Fortunately, I have enough machines in the den to fend off the cold.

Everything is falling apart. In the last two weeks, the following has happened:

• My camcorder broke.
• Linux stopped playing video after a patch.
• Civ 4 stopped working after a patch.
• My car inexplicably refused to start.
• My back started aching for no apparent reason.
• My Clie battery suddenly stopped holding more than 45 minutes' charge.
• My DSL service went down for a day for no apparent reason.
• My wireless stopped working when I bumped the access point.
• My phone line suddenly developed severe line noise. (Note: this may be related to the DSL issues.)
• I misplaced my cell phone.

I've got this den closed up to retain warmth. It's starting to smell a bit rank. I really should be working but haven't been able to get to it.
